The Nikkor DX 18-55mm VR was announced in November 2007 as the fellowship's current budget kit crystalline lens. Testing notes
We tested the Nikkor DX 18-55mm VR using a unalterable output Nikon D60, running firmware version 1.00. Following our convention of using default mill and best timbre JPEG settings to test camera bodies unless otherwise stated, the D60 was set to Large Fine JPEG style and sRGB, with Motorcar White Balance, 3D Matrix metering and the Optimize Image parametric quantity set to Normal for sharpening, tone, colour, saturation and hue; Haphazardness Reduction and Gymnastic D-Inflammation were exercise set to their default Dispatch settings. Vibe Reduction was enabled for handheld shots and unfit for tripod-based tests.
